Hello!
My name is Hilary, or Ms Morefield/Ms. MC to my students.
I am a media arts educator and portrait photographer based in Ventura, California. My primary passion is teaching - I’ve worked in arts education for 12+ years. However, I continue to fuel my creative side working as a photographer, videographer, and artist on the side. I love getting to share my passion for creativity with my students, and getting to pour the energy from my classroom into my creative work. They really do fuel each other.
I’ve photographed all kinds of people, places, and events over the years, but these days I am focusing on creating portraits for families, couples, and individuals. I especially enjoy getting to hire my alumni and former students as assistants, training the next generation of photographers as part of the process. I feel strongly everyone should have access to affordable, quality images of special moments in their lives. I am interested in capturing people as they are, with minimal retouching and a friendly, collaborative approach that focuses on being in the moment and enjoying your loved ones.
